The YWCA is dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women and promoting peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all.

The YWCA has been serving Westmoreland County since 1959 by offering a variety of programs such as early childhood education and daycare; health and wellness programs; advocacy, education and racial justice; technology education; and literacy programs.

 The YWCA Westmoreland County is calling on all individuals to join in our third annual Stand Against Racism on April 25th at 12:00 PM at the YWCA Westmoreland County.  A light luncheon will be served. Everyone is welcome!  

Due to the revision of the YWCA USA bylaws  (effective 01/01/13) and the subsequent dissolution of the regions, each YWCA Association is required to update organizational bylaws to align with these changes. The YWCA Westmoreland County Bylaws Revision Ad Hoc Committee has prepared a draft of our Revised Bylaws to present to the membership for review. This draft will be posted on this website until the Annual Meeting in June. Members will be asked to vote on the acceptance of these Revised Bylaws at the Annual Meeting on June 17, 2014. The Annual Meeting will begin at 6PM.


Please join the YWCA Westmoreland County for the first event of its “Circles of Diversity” discussion series. “Then and Now: Four Women’s Stories” will be held on April 29th at the YWCA Westmoreland County at 5:30 PM. This inaugural events is sponsored by the YWCA Westmoreland County Racial Justice Committee 


Literacy Tutor Training Orientation is being offered May 8th from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the YWCA Mansion at 424 N. Main St. in Greensburg. Anyone interested in the Orientation, please call 724-834-9390 to register.
